Hats, Hats, Hats!

A local seller makes the most darling crocheted hats and sells them online at her Etsy shop, The Blooming Button. She asked me to take pictures of some children wearing her hats to post on her store. I had so much fun with this shoot. She is going to have a booth at the Bijou Market next week and plans to blow up some of the pictures very large to display in her booth.

UPDATE: Here is what her booth looked like- unfortunately the glare wouldn't go away:

She also sells button necklaces at Pebbles in My Pocket. The pictures are mostly cropped as squares since that's how Etsy displays them.

The Parkinson Family

This is my sister-in-law's sweet family and I love them all to pieces. They are one of my favorite families to shoot. I am so glad they asked me to take some pics this year. The best part is that these pictures were taken in front of a pond right across the street from where they live, and about two blocks away from where I live so it was easy! The weather was very overcast and this was my first time using my new camera. I am very pleased with the results!

Published!

A local company called Petersen Medical has taken two of my photos and blown them up onto canvas to display in their conference room. As you can see their company logo is a tree and so they filled the room with pictures of trees. I am so excited to have my work published!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Okay so my birthday isn't for another week or so but my husband was so excited he couldn't wait that long to give me my present:

Tah Dah! Its a Canon 50D!!!!! I am sooo excited. My Rebel XT has been such a great beginner camera and I have learned so much from it. But I am ready to upgrade. I will hold onto my Rebel unless anyone is interested in buying it from me! Just let me know.

Happy Grandparent's Day

Grandparent's Day is this Saturday and I thought it would be nice to take pictures of all of the grandkids on one side of the family and frame them for my mother-in-law. Some were visiting from out of town so we don't get to see them that often. So it was a good photo opportunity.

My Own Photoshoot

I am trying to get my friend Rachel into photography so for fun we went to some abandoned train tracks to play around. I took pictures of her and she took pictures of me. It was so fun to have some pictures of myself to edit for once! I really love how they all turned out and I can't wait to go back to this location in a few weeks when the leaves will be yellow. Rachel did such a great job, especially with it being her first photo shoot. I am so glad she was able to do this with me. It was one of the funnest shoots I've ever done.
